In Haryana, district Hospitals of Gurgaon and Panipat as well as Medical College, Rohtak have been selected for implementation of National level Pilot Programme for Prevention of Burn Injuries (PPPBI) launched by Union Health Ministry. While special burn units will be set up in both district hospitals, the Medical College would also have an Intensive Care Unit for burn cases in addition to the burn unit. A team of Central Government comprising officers of Central Health Education Bureau held detailed discussion with senior officers of Haryana Health and Education Departments on various aspects of the programme at Chandigarh today.Under this programme, six bedded burn units in an approximate area of 400 sq mtrs would be set up in the district hospitals of Gurgaon and Panipat. Similarly, 12 bedded units including an ICU of four beds would be set up in Medical College, Rohtak. Fully equipped Advanced Life Support Ambulances would also be provided in three districts for burn cases. PPPBI Programme would soon be launched in the state by organizing a state level function.
