Haryana Government has decided to increase the excise duty on Country liquor, IMFL ,beer and scotch but concessional rate of excise duty for army canteens will remain unchanged. It has been mentioned in the excise policy 2011-2012 approved by Haryana Cabinet, which met at Chandigarh today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr.Bhupinder Singh Hooda.The Government expects to mop up a revenue of 2500 crore rupees next year, as compared to expected collection of 2250 Crore in the current year. The Cabinet also gave its approval to the proposal of Development and Panchayats Department regarding change in purpose and scope of utilization of funds earmarked as per recommendations of the 3rd State Finance Commission for rural local bodies.
