Haryana Govt to charge former DGP Rathore with abetment to suicide in Ruchika case

Haryana Government has finally decided to register abetment to suicide case against former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore. This move comes after public outcry and mounting public pressure in the molestation and suicide case of teenager Ruchika Girhotra. <br/> <br/>A previous attempt to book Rathore for having forced Ruchika to end her life failed in 2002, following the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court having ruled against the charge. <br/> <br/>The CBI, which investigated the case in 1997, did not at that time, charge Rathore for driving Ruchika to suicide.<br/> <br/>On Sunday, taking suo motu cognisance of Ruchika molestation case, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has said it was a prime example of justice delayed is justice denied while observing that time has come to put on fast track cases against top policemen, bureaucrats and politicians. <br/> <br/>The court gave notices to Punjab and Haryana governments and the Union Territory of Chandigarh to furnish details about cases pending against officials and politicians by January 12. <br/>
