Haryana Government has planned to promote installation of solar water pumping systems in the State. As many as 3,050 solar pump sets of two and five horsepower will be installed under the scheme. The scheme would be implemented in two phases.<br/><br/>Stating this at Chandigarh today, a spokesman of the Haryana New and Renewable Energy Department said that many as 661 beneficiaries have been identified in the first phase of the scheme. <br/><br/>He said that under this scheme, 90 per cent subsidy is being offered to the farmers to install solar water pump sets for irrigation. <br/><br/>The cost of the subsidy would be borne by the Central and State Governments. In the first phase, 855 such pump sets would be installed, he added.
