In Haryana, farmers organized Maha Panchayat of 55 villages at Panchgaon Chowk of Gurgaon near national highway today to protest against the acquisition of 62 hundred acre of fertile agricultural land in Gurgaon, Rewari and Bawal by the state government. The industrialists from Manesar industrial town ship are also supporting the cause of the farmers. The leaders of Maha Panchayat said, Supreme Court had already issued direction against the acquisition of fertile agriculture land and the attempt to acquire these lands is against the Apex Court's ruling. Although the agitation remained peaceful today, the Maha panchayat said that if they were not heard, the aggressive agitation would be launched and highways would be jammed. They said that they would meet the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and appraise her about their problem.
