Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced the new sports policy named 'Haryana Physical Activities and Sports Policy-2015', in a state level function organized at Rohtak. In the new sports policy, the prize money given to the medalists of Olympic, Commonwealth games, Asian games and other recognized competitions have been increased manyfold.The medalists of prominent sports competitions have been given Right of Employment. The provision of assured monthly income through annuity for outstanding sports persons have also been made in the new policy.A number of new awards after the name of Eklavaya, Vikramaditya, Guru Vashisht and Maharana pratap have also been introduced for the prominent players and coaches. Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of Synthetic Athletic Track to be laid at the cost of about Rs 7 crore and also that of Physical Education and Sports Science Faculty Building to be constructed at a cost of five crore rupees in MDU, Rohtak.Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr Anil Vij said that mandate of this policy is to encourage, promote and develop physical activity and sports in Haryana.
