Haryana Chief Minister today inaugurated the trial run of Rapid Metro rail being set up on Public-Private Partenership model at Gurgaon. He also laid the foundation stone of its extension today. Speaking on this occasion he said that 5.1 kilometer long Rapid Metro Gurgaon corridor with six stations would be constructed at a cost of 1088 crore rupees. The fare of this metro would be at par with Delhi Metro. He said that it would be extended upto 7 kilometers at a cost of 2100 crore rupees. The extension project would be completed by July, 2015. On this occasion Mr Hooda said that the state government has prepared a multi mobility plan and metro and Pod Taxi are part of this plan. He said that Haryana Government is seriously considering to launch Pod Taxi also.On this occasion, the secretary of Union Ministry of Urban Development Mr Sudhir Krishna said that Government of India is planning to prepare national mobility card, which would be applicable in Metros in various states. He said that the stations of Rapid Metro Gurgaon has been connected with stations of Delhi Metro.
