Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda wins vote of confidence

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has won the vote of confidence on the floor of the Assembly. He won the confidence vote by seven votes with 47 members voting in favour of the motion in the 90-member house on Wednesday. The Chief Minister secured the support of 39 of the 40 Congress members, as Mr Harmohindar Singh Chatha, a Congress member, was elected the Speaker of the Assembly. Besides, seven independents and one BSP MLA voted in favour of the motion. The Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC), led by former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal and his son Kuldeep Bishnoi, abstained from the crucial trust vote.<br/>
