Haryana CM announces to double prize money of medal winning players of World Cup <br/>

Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to double the prize money of the medal winning players of World Cup or World championships and also a considerable hike in prize money for Bhim and Arjuna Awardees. Mr. Hooda said that Bhim Awardees would now get award money of five lakh rupees instead of two lakh rupees. Similarly, Arjuna Awardees of Haryana would be given award money of five lakh rupees as against two lakh rupees earlier. Bhim award are given by State Government in recognition of outstanding performance by state players whereas Arjuna awards are conferred by the Central Government. Chief Minister said that prize money for those winning gold, silver and bronze medals in World Cup or World championships for both general and para athletes would be 10 lakh rupees, 8 lakh and 6 lakh rupees respectively as against 5 lakh rupees, 4 lakh and 3 lakh rupees given until now.
