Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Saturday announced cash awards for shuttler PV Sindhu, gymnast Dipa Karmakar, sprinter Lalita Babar for their splendid performance at Rio Olympics and also for coach of wrestler Sakshi Malik.Sindhu, the first girl from the country to win a silver medal in badminton at Rio, will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakh, Lalita Babar and Dipa Karmakar will be awarded Rs. 15 lakh each. Coach of wrestler Sakshi Malik, who won bronze medal at Rio, will be given Rs. 10 lakh.Apart from this, as per sports policy of the state government, Sakshi Malik will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2.5 crore. Haryana CM said that the decision to award these Olympians from outside Haryana has been taken to inspire the girls across the country to pursue sports and bring laurels to the nation.
