Haryana Chief Secy asks for banks’ help in flood-hit areas

Haryana Chief Secretary Urvashi Gulati has urged the commercial banks to organise credit camps in flood affected areas in consultations with district administration to help eligible persons in fulfilling their credit needs and suggested the banks to bring forth a strategy to substantially exceed the target of disbursing five per cent of total loans to women beneficiaries. She was presiding over the 112th State level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meeting. She called upon the banks in the state to reach each and every citizen to meet their financial and credit needs. The situation in Kashmir Valley continues to be tense as curfew has been imposed in all the ten districts including entire Srinagar. In a fresh firing incident by security forces on protesters, three persons including two women have received bullet injuries in Kreri Baramula this morning. Following the incident protesters tried to set ablaze a police station. The death toll in Friday's firing at Sopore and Pattan has gone upto four as one more person injured at Pattan has died. There are reports of protesters attempting to set railway station in Amargard Sopore on fire.
