In Haryana, independence day was celebrated with great patriotism and enthuaism. Chief Minister Bhupender Singh Hooda unfurled the national Flag in the state level function organised at Karnal and took salute from the march past. Paying tributes to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country Mr Hooda announced to enhance the monthly pension of freedom fighters and their widows from 15000 rupees to 20000 rupees. The Chief Minister also honored 16 people for their extraordinary contribution to different fields. Functions were also organised in all the government schools of the state.
