In Haryana, the State Government has banned the manufacturing, sale, distribution and use of virgin and recycled plastic carry bags and recycled plastic containers. An official spokesman of the environment department said that the ban had been ordered after considering the adverse effects of it on environment, health and local ecology. He said that no person would be allowed to manufacture, sale or use containers made of recycled plastic for storing, carrying, dispensing or packing of food stuffs. He said only containers made by using natural colour or white plastic and recycled plastic using pigments and colourants as per standards and specifications of Bureau of Indian Standards are allowed.
