Haryana bans strike in Maruti Suzuki India

Haryana Government today imposed a ban on the strike in Maruti Suzuki India by passing prohibitory orders in this respect. Haryana Labour and Employment Minister Shiv Charan Lal Sharma said in a statement released in Chandigarh that the government has also referred the matter of the employees' strike to the local labour court under the provisions of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. The strike at the Manesar plant of Maruti Suzuki entered its seventh day today. Around 2,000 workers at the plant have been on strike since Saturday. The strike has lead to a production loss of about 5,400 units till yesterday. The value of the loss is estimated to be around 270 crore rupees.
