Haryana Approves 100 Crore Aqua Park for Fisheries Excellence

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Animal Husbandry Minister J.P Dalal on Tuesday said that approval has been granted for the construction of an Integrated Aqua Park Centre of Excellence in village Garwa of district Bhiwani with an estimated cost of 100 crore rupees. He said this while participating in the two-day Global Fisheries Conference India-2023 at Ahmedabad. Mr Dalal said that this project is expected to benefit farmers in the region with water scarcity, as well as those from neighboring states like Punjab and Rajasthan.<br />'' <br />''Apprising the conference about the activities done by the government in the fisheries sector in the state he said, a modern wholesale fish market is proposed to be constructed in Sultanpur village in Gurugram district. Mr Dalal also highlighted the efforts of the Haryana government in promoting fisheries, including awareness campaigns for farmers and the implementation of new schemes. He shared that the state government aims to achieve an additional 30,000 tons of shrimp production in about 15,000 acres in the next five years.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">He said that in the current financial year, Haryana has achieved a fish production of 1.62 lakh tons in 46,493 acres of water area and 7500 tonnes of shrimp in about 4350 acres. In the last financial year, 2.12 lakh tonnes of fish were produced in 45,015 acres of water area, he added.</span>
