Most places in Haryana and Chandigarh today got temporary respite from the severe cold wave with minimum temperatures rising between 3-6 degrees in the region. However, Punjab continued to reel under the chill.According to the MeT office, rains also lashed many places in the region ending prolonged dry spell. Light to moderate rains lashed Chandigarh, Hisar, Ambala, Karnal, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Ludhiana and Patiala.The MeT said that thick fog had also lifted from most places today barring Karnal.In Punjab, the minimum temperature also increased from Tuesday's 0.8 degree Celsius at Amritsar to 3 degree Celsius, but it was still a notch below normal.The MeT has forecast more rains in the plains of the region tomorrow.
