In Haryana, the state level function was organised at Bhiwani, where well known mountaineer Mamta Sodha led the Independence Day parade. Chief Minister Bhupender Singh Hooda, while unfurling National Flag and saluted the martyrs and freedom fighters. He said that now in Haryana the per capita income is second largest in the country. Mr. Hooda said, land acquisition and relief & rehabilitation policy of Haryana is one of the best in the country. Speaking on the empowerment of Panchayati Raj Institutions in Haryana, he said, the government has decided to give each Panchayati Samiti an annual grant of 50 lakh rupees to economically empower them.
Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia while felicitating the people on Independence Day at a function at Hisar urged the countrymen to extend their cooperation in cementing the bonds of universal brotherhood peace and communal harmony so that the objective of all round progress can be achieved.
