Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan has called upon scientists to carry out research on the deadly disease Japanese Encephalitis, that has so far claimed over 50 lives in Malkangiri district of Odisha. Adderssing a programme in Bhubaneswar yesterday, Dr. Harsh Vardhan expressed concern over the death of children in the deadly vector-borne virus and said scientists should focus on the Japanese Encephalitis virus. <br/><br/>Claiming that India has achieved a key position in the global science and research fields, Dr Harsh Vardhan said more than 250 Indian scientists have returned to the country in the last two to three years. He said steps are afoot to ensure use of more and more science and technological skills in Make in India and Startup India programmes.
