In Uttarakhand, Haridwar police has arrested a suspected ISI agent, who was providing vital information related to Army installations in Meerut and Roorkee to an officer of the Pakistani spy agency.District police chief Rajiv Khurana told AIR that Furkan alias K K alias Ajay, a resident of Meerut was arrested from Roorkee railway station in Haridwar district, last night while he was about to catch a train.According to Mr. Khurana Furkan was in touch with an ISI officer in Pakistan, identified as Major Rathod, for a long time and was providing him maps, photographs and other vital information of Army installations in Meerut and Roorkee through e-mail.Furkan's arrest has come at a time when the passing out parade of the prestigious Indian Military Academy at Dehra Dun is just a week away and would be attended by the President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil who will be its Reviewing Officer.
