In Haridwar about 55 lakh devotees took holy dip in the river Ganga on auspicious occasion of Somvati Amavasya. According to authorities the second Sahi snan was peaceful. 13 Akharas participated in Sahi Snan amidst tight security. <br/>In Haridwar, Shahi Snan is still going on and will continue , on the occasion of Somvati Amavasya, second Shahi Snan of Maha Kumbh amidst tight security. Sadu Sant Acharya and Maha Mandaleswar are reaching Harki Pauri on chariot with full security, where they are taking holy dip in the river Ganga. Other devotees are taking holy bath at various ghats due to ban of entry at Harki Pauri. <br/>Meanwhile, the route of Shahi procession has been changed today due to administrative reasons.<br/> <br/>On the occasion a large number of devotees took dip in Sangam at Allahabad and in Varanasi also. Traditional worship was performed in temples across the country. <br/>The President of India, Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has greeted the nation on the occasion of Chaitra Sukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Cheti Chand, Navroj and Sajibu Cheiraoba which shall be celebrated tomorrow. In her message Mrs. Patil said, May these festivals bring peace, happiness and prosperity to all our people and promote oneness and harmony in society.
