HAREDA implement first of its kind special project for SPV installation

Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) has implemented a first of its kind special project for the installation of Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) street lighting system in the Scheduled Castes (SC) dominated villages having 50 per cent or more SC population. As many as 278 villages of nine districts, namely Ambala, Yamunanagar, Panchkula, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Panipat, Sonipat, Kaithal and Kurukshetra had already been covered under the project.Haryana Renewable Energy Minister Mahender Pratap Singh said that Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy had sanctioned around 987 solar photovoltaic street lighting systems, to be installed in 35 villages of district Gurgaon, Faridabad, Bhiwani and Jind.He pointed out that under SPV Urban Area Programme, 1171 SPV street lighting systems, 24 solar traffic signals, 270 solar blinkers, 226 street light charge controllers, 1100 solar road studs, 14 SPV power plants of 1 KW capacity had been installed in the Municipal Councils and Corporations of Rohtak, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Hisar, Panchkula, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Rewari, Sirsa, Jind and Kaithal.
