A hardcore CPI (Maoist) naxal area commander of Bundu-Chandil area of Jharkhand, having a reward of Rs. two lakhs on him, has surrendered before the Ranchi police yesterday. Sudama Mahto alias Chand is from Avalpedhi village under Tamar Sub-Division of Ranchi district, who had joined the notorious Kundan Pahan faction of naxal. DIG Sampat Meena and SSS Praveen Kumar was from the police side to accept the surrender. Police also handed over a cheque of Rs. 50 thousand as the encouragement amount.
