The 130th birth anniversary of noted Hindi Writer Munshi Premchand is being observed throughout the country. A number of theatre groups have lined up a series of plays based on the literary works across the country including at his ancestral village in Varanasi. Mumbai-based Ideal Drama and Entertainment Academy (IDEA) have made elaborate arrangements for the occasion.The group, which started the “Aadab, Main Premchand Hoon” series in 2005, will stage 54 plays on the writer's stories during the 10-day Prem Utsav 2010 from August 1 in Mumbai. IDEA is in its fifth year of celebrating its annual drama festival Prem Utsav. In five years, they have staged 238 out of Premchand's 283 stories in 257 weeks.
