Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir has appealed all citizens to adapt fast to cashless transactions and help fulfill the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for eradication of the menace of black money from society. <br/><br/>He was Addressing a function on Demonetisation organized by the Delhi Police in New Delhi yesterday. Mr Ahir said cashless transactions will not only bring in transparency in financial transactions but also prevent tax evasion. Underlining that Prime Minister has asked every citizen to take oath for cashless transactions, he said demonetisation has thrown a new challenge, offering multiple opportunities for digital economy.<br/> <br/>He asked police officers to make good use of their massive outreach among all cross sections of society. Mr Ahir said the police personnel should not only adopt digital payments but also help and facilitate traders and RWAs and others. <br/> <br/> Allaying concerns that Government was not prepared for the effects of demonetization, the Minister said crores of Jan Dhan bank accounts were opened during the last more than two years of the present Government. He said besides the Government is committed to setting up the supporting digital and communication infrastructure.
