Hanging in Rajiv Gandhi case on Sept 9

Three convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case are to be hanged on September 9th. The three convicts Santhan, Murugan and Perarivalan have been officially informed on Saturday that their mercy petition to the President of India has been rejected. The superintendent of the Vellore central Prison Mr. Arivudainambi, conveyed the information to them and also fixed the date of execution on the 9th of September. After twenty years after the assassination and 11 years after the submission of the petitions, their plea was rejected by the President in the first week of this month and they face death sentence.
