Hamren SP killing: 10 militants of UPLA apprehended at Assam-Nagaland border

In a major breakthrough, security forces apprehended 10 leaders and cadres of militant outfit United People’s Liberation Army, UPLA at Assam – Nagaland border area last night. The outfit was involved in the recent killing of Hamren SP and his PSO.

Top leaders of the militant outfit including the self-styled Commander in Chief, among others had been apprehended in the combing operation. The Commander in Chief has admitted to be involved in the killing.

The Hamren SP and his PSO had been killed in an encounter with UPLA cadres in Karbi Anglong district on Thursday. Security forces have intensified operation to nab the culprits behind the killing of two cops.

Official sources said that the Assam police have shared information with its Nagaland counterpart on the presence of the militants’ .Acting on the tip off; Nagaland police apprehended them last night. Assam government has already ordered probe to inquire the death of the SP.
