Hamid Rahimi has won the first professional boxing championship in the history of Afghanistan by defeating Said Mbelwa of Tanzania in Kabul last night. Afghan born middleweight boxer Hamid Rahimi stopped Mbelwa in the seventh round in technical knockout. Organized by the World Boxing Union the championship named 'Afghanistan fight for peace' was held in the Loya Jirga hall of central Kabul before three thousand spectators with millions watching it on the telivison across the country. With this win Rahimi has also earned a spot in the top 15 middleweight world rankings.
