Summit level talks of the IORA to begin at Jakarta Convention Centre, Jakarta in Indonesia. On the sidelines of the summit Mr. Ansari will have bilateral talks with summit leaders from Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Yemen. <br/><br/>The vice president of India, Mohammed Hamid Ansari is expected to pitch for freedom of navigation, maritime security, and measures to counter piracy.India has been hailed for its stewardship to steer the path by defining the six priority areas of IORA during its chairmanship from 2011-13. <br/><br/>In tandem with that India will continue to focus on those areas, the areas such as maritime security, trade and investment, Fisheries management, Disaster risk management, Science and technology, and tourism.<br/><br/>Inspite of being the major regional association, Indian Ocean Rim Association, IORA has not been able to achieve major traction over the past two decades of its existence. In that regard Signing of IORA concord today by the 21 member states is hailed as a major step to strengthen the association. <br/><br/>And the Joint Declaration of IORA Business Community for sustainable growth is expected to boost co operation amongst its members. Meanwhile, India will continue to focus on maritime security, trade and investment, Fisheries, Disaster risk management, Science and technology, and tourism for greater co operation at the summit level talks
