Vice President Hamid Ansari today called for reaffirming democratic process in letter and spirit of the constitution for emotional integration of the country.

Speaking at the 2012 Sardar Patel Memorial lecture orgainsed by All India Radio in New Delhi today, Mr. Ansari said, the process of emotional integration has faltered and is in dire need of reinvigoration. He said, the nation is facing several challenges including Naxalism, insurgency in the some areas, poverty, linguistic, social and cultural disparities.

Mr. Ansari said, a corrective is imperative and lie in reaffirmation of the democratic process bequeathed to us by the founding fathers.

Mr. Ansari also stressed for imbibing and implementing these principles at all levels of the polity and particularly in educational policy and also in mind of the youth.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari, Prasar Bharti Chairperson Mrinal Pande, CEO Jawarhar Sircar, , Information and Broadcasting Secretary Uday Kumar Verma were present on the occasion.
