Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said, more than half of the waqf properties are under the clutches of waqf mafias.<br/><br/>In his address at the 75th meeting of Central Waqf Council in New Delhi today, the Minister said, it has been noticed that people of several waqf boards are also involved in the act of property grabbing. <br/><br/>Mr Naqvi said, such people are creating various obstacles in development and utilisation of waqf properties for welfare of the society. The Minister informed that a high-level inquiry has been going on in these matters. <br/><br/>He warned that strict action will be taken against those found guilty. Mr Naqvi also stressed for digitalization of records of waqf properties. He assured the council of providing all possible help in ensuring transparency in management of waqf properties.
