Haiti: Jovenel Moise declared winner of Presidential elections

In Haiti, businessman Jovenel Moise has officially been declared the winner of November's Presidential elections. The Election Tribunal said, Mr Moise, a 48-year old banana exporter, was elected with 55.6 per cent of the votes, well ahead of his closest rival, Jude Celestin, who won 19.5 per cent votes.<br/><br/>The President-Elect, from the centre-right Haitian Tet Kale Party and backed by former President Michel Martelly, is expected to take office by the 7th of next month. The poorest country in the Americas, Haiti has been led by an interim President since last February.
