Home Minister P Chidambaram today demanded that Pakistan interrogate JuD chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed for the Mumbai terror attacks as all the evidence against him was on its soil. Reacting to reports that Saeed has been placed under house arrest, Mr. Chidambaram said he has no objection even if it is a face-saving technique by Pakistan. Talking to reporters in Chennai he said that now that Hafiz has been arrested his role in the 26/11 attacks must be investigated. The Home Minister pointed out that when Pakistan is asking for giving evidence, it is not on Indian soil and all the evidence against Hafiz Saeed is on Pakistani soil. He said, therefore, one must investigate in Pakistan and find the evidence in Pakistan. Mr.Chidambaram said the two FIRs, which were filed against Saeed on Friday by Pakistani authorities, are unrelated to 26/11 attacks.
