Guwahati molestation case: Assam CM orders immediate arrest of all culprits

A team of National Commission for Women today investigated the molestation incident of a girl on Monday night in Guwahati. The two member team met senior officials and the victim.

Later, talking to newsmen, the members of the Commission said that, they will submit the details report of the incident to the Chairperson of National Commission for Women on Monday. They also recommended to form a Special Fast Track court to bring the culprits to book. They hoped that police will able to arrest the 7 absconding culprits soon.

Assam Chief Minister also instructed the administration to nab all the culprits immediately.

So far, 11 person involved in the molestation case have been identified and 4 of them have been arrested. State Social Welfare Minister Akon Bora today called on the victim at her Guwahati resident and assured her of security and justice.

Meanwhile, RTI activist Akhil Gogoi alleged that a TV journalist of private channel instigated the mob to molest the girl.
