Martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur is being observed across the country today. In her message, President Pratibha Devisingh Patil has appealed to the people to resolve to eschew hatred and violence from their thoughts on the occasion.

She said that people should follow his teachings of love, harmony and compassion and his supreme sacrifice in the cause of secularism and all-round progress of the country.
