Guru Nanak Jayanti being celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety

Guru Nanak Jayanti, the 546th birthday of Guru Nanak Devji, is being celebrated with religious zeal and gaiety across the country and at various places abroad also .<br/><br/>There was heavy rush of devotees at the Harmandar Sahib, popularly known as the Golden Temple, in Amritsar as people arrived to offer prayers and took holly dips.<br/><br/>Hymns were rendered at the holly shrine and hundered of other Gurudwaras across the region. The whole Golden Temple complex has been illuminated for the past few days. Deepmala is also being done at Gurudwaras. <br/><br/>Langars were organised at all gurdwaras across Punjab and along major highways People have also done lighting at their houses and fireworks is bieng launched by them. There was a security ring around all leading sikh shrines in Punjab. <br/><br/>Hundreds of devotees from India went to Pakistan this week to offer<br/>prayers at the Nankana Sahib gurdwara, the birth place of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji which is now in Pakistan.
