Gurkeerat helps India A thrash Bangladesh A by 96 runs

Punjab youngster Gurkeerat Singh's all-round brilliance enabled India A to comfortably crush Bangladesh A by 96 runs in the first One Dayer of the three-match series in Bengaluru today.Gurkeerat contributed a quickfire 58-ball 65 to ensure a commanding total of 322 for seven for the hosts, and then effectively bowled his off-breaks to return figures of 5 for 29 in 7.3 overs as the visitors were bowled out for 226 in 42.3 overs. The last five Bangladesh wickets fell for just 19 runs to Gurkeerat. All the Bangladeshi players fell for small scores L Das ,75 and N Hossain, 52 were the only notable contributers to the visitors total of 183 . Specialist Suresh Raina, who was coming into competitive match after a three-month rest, looked completely rusty during his 16 off 28-balls . Sanju Samson ,who made 73, and Rishi Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal 56 each steadied the Indian innings. India were reduced to 125 for five at halfway stage. Unmukt Chand 16, Manish Pandey ,1, Kedar Jadhav out for a duck flopped as India were reduced to 76 for four.
