Army's Regiment of Artillery celebrated its 188th Raising Day today which is known as 'Gunners Day'. The day commemorates the raising of the oldest Indian Artillery unit in 1827. Artillery is a formidable arm of the Indian Army, which has proved its mettle on the battlefield in every single conflict since independence. It is the collective valour and dedication of Artillery units that turned the tide in many a battle including the Kargil conflict in 1999.
