Gunfight breaks out between security forces, militants in J&K's Handwara

In Jammu and Kashmir, a gunfight has broken out between security forces and militants in Vilgam area of Handwara in Kupwara district, which is around 100 Kms in north of Srinagar. AIR correspondent quoting Deputy Inspector General Police North Kashmir Range Gareeb Das reports that the gunfight broke out in Sochalyari forest area of Kupwara district around 8:30 last evening. <br/><br/>The area has been cordoned off and the operation is underway being jointly conducted by Special Operations Group, Army's 6 RR and 9 Para forces. A group of three to four militants is believed to be holed up in the area. No fatal casualty from either sides is reported till now. This is the 2nd encounter within 24 hours in north Kashmir. Yesterday, one militant and a soldier were killed in the 10 hour gunfight between militants and the security forces in Ladoora Rafiabad area of Baramulla district.
