Five police personnel including three jawans of Bihar Military Police (BMP) were killed and seven injured in a fierce gun battle between Maoists and security forces in Lakhisarai district of Bihar. Four bodies including in-charge of Kavaiya police station have been recovered so far. The encounter took place at hilltop in forest areas near Punadih village under Kajra police station. Injured security personnel have been admitted to Patna Medical college Hospital ( PMCH) for treatment.AIR Patna correspondent reports that search operation is on to locate more bodies. Maoists looted arms from the possession of the slain police personnel.The Director General of Police Mr. Neelmani said that ten police personnel including three Sub Inspector did not return to their the base. A BSF helicopter has been pressed into service to assist district administration in search operation. Additional Security forces have been sent to Lakhisarai from Patna.
