Close on the heels of the British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson's visit to the Middle East, it is now the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson who is on a hopping trip to Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia to discuss ongoing efforts to resolve the Gulf dispute.<br/><br/>A statement from the US State Department said that at the invitation of the Emir of Kuwait, the Secretary is travelling to Kuwait to meet with senior Kuwaiti officials to discuss issues involving the month long tension in the Arab region over the Qatar issue.<br/><br/>The Emir of Kuwait has been leading the mediation process between the Arab countries and is being supported by the US in his efforts to bring about a peaceful resolution to the crisis. Thereafter, the US Secretary of State will travel to Qatar and Saudi Arabia.<br/><br/>Last month, Saudi Arabia, UAE , Bahrain and Egypt had severed diplomatic ties with Qatar accusing it of terror funding and creating instability in the region, a charge which Doha denies. <br/><br/>The four Arab countries had given Qatar a list of demands to be complied before the blockade ended. However, Qatar rejected the demands made by its powerful neighbours but say that they are willing to discuss 'legitimate concerns'. <br/><br/>
