Gujarat State congress unit terms BJP's protests against CBI investigation as 'drama'

State Congress Unit in Gujarat today termed the BJP's protests against CBI investigation into Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter as a 'drama' and said it was politically motivated. <br/><br/>Addressing a joint press conference here, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Siddharth Patel and Leader of Congress Legislative Party Mr Shaktisinh Gohil alleged that the BJP was indulging in politics of vote bank. <br/><br/>They said that BJP was trying to create hurdles in the way of CBI investigation which has been mandated by the Supreme Court to look into the a fake encounter and ascertain if there was any larger conspiracy behind it. <br/><br/>Congress leaders said that case of fake encounter of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and murder of his wife Kausar Bi is before the Supreme Court. It was the apex court who assigned the investigation of the case to the CBI. <br/><br/>The Congress or the Centre has no role in it. Meanwhile, BJP has organized demonstrations at all district headquarters against alleged misused of CBI by the Centre in Gujarat. <br/><br/>AIR Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that the issue has gathered heat after the arrest of Senior Police Officer by CBI in connection with fake encounter.<br/>
