Gujarat: Situation in violence hit areas almost normal; schools opening today

In Gujarat, situation is almost normal in violence hit areas following deployment of army and paramilitary forces. Curfew was completely lifted in Patan and some areas of Surat, while it was relaxed during the day time in some areas of Banaskantha and Mehsana on Thursday. <br/><br/>Curfew in 9 police station areas of Ahmedabad is still in place as precautionary measure. <br/><br/>Markets and commercial establishments resumed its operations from yesterday in most of the towns and cities, while schools are opening from today in entire state. However, state transport buses were remained off the roads during the night.<br/><br/>In Gujarat, the train services have been restored since late night.<br/> <br/>The train services across the state were affected as the tracks and signals were damaged at about 12 places mostly in Ahmedabad and North Gujarat during the Patidar quota agitation. <br/><br/>According to official sources, there were around 40 cancellations, 40 partial cancellations, and 15 diversions of trains during the past 36 hours.
