In Gujarat, the polling is underway for the Khadia Assembly constituency in Ahmedabad city today. Total five candidates are in fray including BJP, Congress and three independents. AIR Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that the main contest is between Congress candidate Mr. Jagat Shukla and BJP candidate Mr. Bhushan Bhatt. The seat fell vacant following death of Gujarat assembly speaker Ashok Bhatt. His son Mr. Bhushan Bhatt is contesting as a BJP Candidate. About 70 thousand voters have been registered in the Khadia Assembly constituency. Voting will continue up to 5 pm under the tight security arrangements. Counting of votes will be held on 17th of this month.
