Congress has accused the BJP of making excuses and creating legal complications to avoid appointment of a Lokayukta in Gujarat. Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, party spokesman Rashid Alvi said that Gujarat High Court's decision to uphold the appointment of Lokayukta has exposed the double standards of BJP. Alvi said although BJP demands a strong Lokpal at the Centre, the party is not in favour of an appointment of Lokayukta in Gujarat, ruled by BJP.
