The Gujarat High Court today issued a fresh notice to Retd Justice R A Mehta who was appointed as the Lokayukta by the governor without consulting the Narendra Modi government. The state government has challenged the Governor's decision in the High Court.The notice was issued by a division bench of Justices Akil Kureshi and Sonia Gokani after the earlier one issued on the 7th of this month was not served on him.The next hearing in the matter has now been scheduled for the 28th of this month, when the court will also hear the contempt petition against Modi for leaking his letter written to the Prime Minister to the media.
