Gujarat High Court today granted bail to former Minister of State for Home Amit Shah, accused in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter. Justice RH Shukla- of Gujarat High Court has pronounced the judgment after the lawyers had completed their counter arguments on last Wednesday.Shah was arrested by CBI in last July. He challenged his arrest in the lower court, which had rejected his bail plea. In his petition filed before the High court, Shah had alleged that the CBI had framed him and there is no evidence to implicate him in the case. However, CBI accused Shah as the mastermind in the fake encounter case and was also part of a larger extortion racket.AIR Correspondent reports that Amit Shah- the close aide of State Chief Minister Narendra Modi is in judicial custody since last 3 months after his arrest by CBI. He is likely to be release from the Sabarmati Jail on Friday evening.
