Gujarat Govt orders high level inquiry in Vadodara building collapse

Gujarat Government has ordered high level inquiry in Vadodara building collapse incident. Former Chairperson of State Vigilance Commission Dr. Manjula Subramanium will conduct the inquiry into the sudden collapse of building constructed by Vadodara Urban Development Authority-VUDA.

The death toll of the mishap has reached to eleven following four more bodies recovered from the debris. Quoting sources, our Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that rescue and relief operation is still continuing and the toll is likely to increase further. Six persons injured in the incident have been admitted to Hospital.
AIR correspondent adds that two blocks of a three storied building constructed by Vadodara Urban Development Authority-VUDA in Atladara area of Vadodara collapsed early this morning. National Disaster and Relief Force and Army personal have also rushed to the spot along with Fire Brigade officials for the rescue and relief operation. Earlier in the day, a 10 year old girl had been pulled out live from the debris after four hours of mishap. She has been treated in the city hospital. Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has announced a cash relief of two lakh rupees to the kin of the deceased in the mishap.
