Gujarat govt claims prompt action against guilty in Una incident

Gujarat Government has claimed that it had taken prompt action against those found guilty of thrashing Dalit youths in Una. <br/>Addressing the media persons at Gandhinagar, senior Minister Vijay Rupani said Chief Minister had already announced the investigation by Crime branch of State CID before the issue was raised. He said 4 lakh rupees compensation has been announced and one lakh rupees paid to the victims. Police has arrested 16 accused in the case. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel announced more steps for the families of victims and dalit community in Una. After her visit to Una town yesterday morning, Chief Minister has said that people belonging to dalit community in Una will be provided houses on urgent basis. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Una town today. NCP leader Praful Patel is also visiting Una.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent's report:-<br/>"Crime branch of state CID has taken over the investigation of Una incident from local police. It is likely that it may take fresh remands and statement of the accused. Meanwhile, leaders of political parties including the leaders of Dalit community have appealed to the people to maintain the peace and harmony in the state. After the Chief Minister Anandiben Patel's visit to Una, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and NCP leader Praful Patel are likely to visit Una today.
