<span style="color: #222222;">Gujarat government has announced to set up 5 more new medical colleges and attached 300 bed hospitals in the state. Announcing this, State Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said that these new Medical colleges will be set up at Godhara, Veraval, Jamkhambhaliya, Botad and Morbi. He said that State government has recommended the center to open these new medical colleges under the central scheme. Earlier, Gujarat government had recommended three new medical colleges in tribal dominant Rajpipala and Navsari in South Gujarat and Porbandar in coastal Saurashtra. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Briefing media persons at Gandhinagar yesterday, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said that the center had taken a decision in last August to start 75 new medical colleges. These new medical colleges would be set up in such areas where no medical colleges are available. Mr. Patel, who also holds the portfolio of Health Ministry, said that under the scheme 60 percent cost would be provided by the centre, while the remaining amount would be spent by the state government. In all over Rs 1500 crore would be spent. He said that currently there are total 5500 medical seats in Gujarat which would increase after sanction of new medical colleges.</span><br />
