The Gujarat government has announced a series of relief measures including monthly financial assistance for the children who have lost both their parents due to COVID-19. Announcing 'Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana', Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said such children will get 4,000 rupees per month till they turn 18 and 6000 rupees per month till they turn 21.<br />'' <br />''AIR correspondent reports that state government launched this scheme yesterday on the eve of the completion of seven years of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. During a live webcast yesterday, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said All types of undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be considered valid for availing benefit under this scheme. He added that such orphaned children will also get priority in various government schemes offering scholarships within India and abroad irrespective of income criteria.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The children orphaned by COVID-19 from the SC, ST , OBC  NT-DNT and Economically Backward Classes will get the benefit of scholarships from the state Social Justice and Empowerment as well as Tribal Development Department irrespective of income limits.
